Hawaii Coffee Company:

Supporting local farmers. Sustainably minded. Partnering with our community.

Our Sustainability Pledge

At Hawaii Coffee Company, we are committed to continuously improving our sustainability efforts. By championing environmentally friendly practices, fostering local partnerships, and prioritizing the well-being of our communities, we aim to create a future where Hawai’i’s coffee industry thrives in harmony with its natural and cultural resources.

Together, we’re not just brewing coffee—we’re brewing a better future.

Supporting Local Farmers and Communities

It all starts with our farmers. Without them caring for our land, we would not have the ability to make our premium products.

Hawaii Direct Trade Program: Strengthening partnerships with local farmers to ensure fair pay and sustainable practices that preserve Hawai’i’s agricultural heritage.

Farm Management and Pest Mitigation Support: Providing resources and expertise to help farmers enhance productivity while protecting the environment.

Outreach and Advocacy: Collaborating with regulatory agencies to support farmers and promote sustainable agricultural policies.

Reducing Waste and Promoting Renewable Energy

Our commitment to sustainability is in our company DNA. We continuously strive toward innovation that will reduce our global footprint.

Repurposing production by-products:

  • Chaff from roasting and cherry pulp are reintroduced as natural fertilizers and soil conditioners.
  • Bio-mass is used to generate clean, renewable energy.
  • Burlap bags are responsibly disposed of through energy recovery at H-Power.

Minimizing environmental impact through transport reduction:

  • Producing coffee close to the markets where it will be sold.
  • Utilizing local suppliers to reduce fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions.
